Shimizu-sha, known as the deity of water, is located at the start of the 'Kokoro-no-komichi' footpath.
There is a popular spring next to this Shinto shrine. This spot attracts many tourists because it is believed that, if you pour water over a stone in the center of the spring three times, your wish will come true.
The stone in the spring is believed to have some relationship with Yang Kuei-Fei, a legendary Chinese queen, known as one of the three beauties in the world history. It is said that if you wash your face with water here, you will change and become more beautiful!
Soba Naoto serves a wide range of hand-made soba noodles. If you take a seat at the counter, you can get a close look at cooking processes in the kitchen.
Soba Naoto also offers great"Tempura," which has a crunchy texture and its taste is absolutely scrumptious. You should definitely try that!
There is one thing you have to keep in mind. As soon as the soba noodles are sold out, the restaurant closes.

Nihachi Soba（二八そば）\ 700
Nihachi Soba is a basic type of Soba noodles, which is made from 20% wheat flour and 80% soba (buckwheat) flour. Enjoy how it goes down smoothly and its chewy texture.
Jyuwari Soba（十割そば）\ 900
Jyuwari Soba is only made from Soba flour (no wheat flour as binder). You can enjoy the pure flavor of Soba and the chewy texture.
Inaka Soba（田舎そば）\ 900
Inaka Soba looks dark and thick. The flour contains soba chaff, so it has a stronger flavor of Soba than other kinds of soba noodles.
Hirauchi Inaka Soba（平打ち田舎そば）
This type of noodle is original to Soba Naoto. It is made from the same flour as Inaka soba, but it is thinner and wider.
Our recommendations!
〈Sakuraebi Yuba Soba〉￥1,400
This soba has "Sakuraebi Kakiage" and "Yuba" which is a thin layer of soy bean curd. "Yuba" has a very mild taste and is good with soba. If you have a chance, you must try that.
〈Kamo Nanban Soba〉 ¥1,350
This is soba with roasted duck meat and grilled welsh onions in hot soup.
The roasted duck is very tender and juicy, and grilled Welsh onions are sweet. The roasted duck and sweet of Welsh onions are great with chewy Soba and delicious soup.
Tempura
Ebisu Kakiage（えびすかき揚げ）\900
Besides Soba noodles, you should try "Kakiage," which is a deep-fried dish with multiple ingredients. This particular Kakiage contains two kind of shrimps, scallops and green soybeans. It looks colorful and delicious.
You can order it a la carte, but there is a set menu with Soba noodles.

How to eat soba
- First, enjoy soba noodles without sauce in order to enjoy the original flavor of soba (buckwheat).
- And then, have soba with sauce. Do not put all the soba noodles into the dipping sauce as it is too salty. You may want to put green onions and wasabi into the sauce, if you like.
- When you eat soba, you can make slurping noises.
- After soba, "sobayu" will be served. "Sobayu" is the hot water that the soba was boiled in. Pour it into the remaining soba sauce and drink it. It is good for your health.

It's a famous Japanese izakaya bar in Nagoya.
Popular dishes are "Tebasaki'' (Famous "Kara-age" deep-fried chicken wings), "Misokushikatshu" (Deep-fried pork skewers in red miso sauce), "Doteni" (Pork entrails simmered in red miso), Tenmusu (Rice ball with shrimp tempura) and so on.
All of them are Nagoya traditional dishes. Tebasaki is the most popular and favorite dish at Yamachan. Both Misokushikatsu and Doteni are made with red miso.
Nagoya has "Miso culture". Aichi prefecture has many brewing factories. Miso and Japanese sake are made there.
The Kanayama branch is a time-honored shop. The logotype is written in Hiragana. There are 27 branches of "Sekai no Yamachan" in Nagoya city. In all Japan there are 69 branches. There are 7 branches abroad.
If you are enthusiastic about the cuisine, you may be able to go to Yamachan in your own country and compare it with the cuisine in the Japanese shops. However, they have their each specialties. The popular dishes differ from shop to shop.

Hello, I'm Jino. My major is English. Although I'm already senior, I'm working as a Gakujo-supporter during Open Campus. Nice to meet you.
My boss told me to write a blog in English, so I just follow the order.
As I wrote in the beginning of this blog, it's first time to be the Gakujo-supporter and write the blog. Before being the staff, I had experienced studying abroad in U.S. The first story I want to tell you is 'the studying abroad.'
First of all, I've been in Bowling Green State University(BGSU) in Ohio for 1 year, then I came back in Japan 2 months ago. I got so many experiences that I had never done like living in a dormitory with a roommate and, other neighbor residents, and learning foreign cultures. Not only American but also Asian friends like Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Saudi Arabian and Japanese helped me and hung out with me a lot so we spent great time and had a bunch of parties like for birthday, and after events. I played guitar, and we sang songs together, such as 'My heart will go on' which is famous as the theme song of 'Titanic', birthday song, some Japanese music, and so on.
I like to eat foods, by the way, especially とんこつらーめん(tonkotsu ramen). However, it's expensive in U.S. I was starving for it so much while studying abroad. I took a trip around New York during spring break, then found a Japanese ramen restaurant there. The name is 'ずんどう屋(zundou-ya).' The price for a bowl of ramen is "15 dollar", plus "5 dollar" as a tip because you normally need to give waiter a tip in U.S. The taste was as good as Japanese one, but the price is two or three times different between America and Japan.
Finally, I want you to see how BGSU looks like a little bit. A picture below is a part of it. The university is really huge. There are many buildings to take classes, a lot of dormitories, a variety of food places, a stadium for foot ball, outside basket courts, etc... on campus. Snow covering the ground is beautiful, isn't it? You can meet a bunch of squirrels(りすちゃん) and rabbits(うさちゃん) on campus. They are so cute! I miss BGSU and friends of mine!
This building in this picture is Student Union (SU) which has a convenience store, a restaurant, a food court, 'Starbacks Coffee', and a BGSU goods shop inside. I used to get Americanized Chinese foods from 'Panda Express.'

と、言うことで今回学術情報センターでは生物、動物に関する様々な本を集めた
「大学生が読んでも楽しい動物特集」コーナーを作成しました！
大学生を対象に図書館にある本から何冊か選別しましたので、
こういった学術的な側面から動物やその環境等に目を向けた本から
不思議な生き物の生態や種類を、ユーモアを交えつつわかりやすく記した本などを
用意しております。
このコーナーに展示されている本を読んで、様々な動物に対しての知識を深め、
見識を広げていただけたら幸いです。

どうも。BLACKはアリがモチーフだと思っていた伊藤です。
何を言っているかわかった人は恐らくファンか30代の方かと思います。
前置きはさておき、段々と過ごしやすい季節になってきましたね。
とは言え朗らかな陽気の春も終わってしばらくすると夏です。
大学の春休みは長いので期間中に遊びに行く方や、勉強する方、就職活動に勤しむ方...
色々な過ごし方があるかと思います。
さて、夏といえば肝試しに登山やキャンプと様々なアウトドアがあります。
そんなアウトドアに付きもなのは...そう「虫」です。
嫌な顔をしても仕方ありません。
コンクリートジャングルから草木生い茂る自然の中で過ごすのですから。
そりゃあもう虫だってそこら中にいますし、動物だっています。
ですが虫の中でもあまり人間に害がない虫、足元に居ますが小さくて気にも留めない虫...
それがアリ。そんなアリがモチーフのスーパーヒーローをご存知ですか？
それがこの『アントマン』です。
直訳だと「蟻男」で昭和の怪人感がありますが、「蝙蝠男」や「蜘蛛男」もありますので...
では、アントマンはどんな物語なのか、少しばかりあらすじを...。
刑期を終えて出所したてのスコットは心を入れ替え頑張るが仕事は見つからず、
妻は警官と再婚し、愛する娘にも中々会えずに絶体絶命の危機を迎えていた。
そんなスコットに依頼された仕事は蟻並みの身長に変化できるスーツを着たヒーロー
"アントマン"になることだった。
スコットはスーツ開発者の博士の下で特訓を重ね"ある兵器"を破壊するミッションに挑む...
...といったストーリーです。
さて、このアントマンの見所ですが、まさに何とっても蟻サイズの映像表現！
普段の何気ないものが蟻のサイズになった時の恐ろしさをユーモアに表現しています。
シャワーの水は大洪水、掃除機は竜巻、机の上の景色は高層ビルの様に感じられます。
(このバスタブに水を入れるシーンはまるでダムのよう)
そしてアントマンは映像表現だけで無く、ユーモアやアクションも勿論。
娘の為に人生をやり直そうと奮闘する父親、スコットの物語も丁寧に描いています。
そんな私オススメの映画『アントマン』は学術情報センター4階にアリますので、
是非、お時間がある時にご覧下さい。

嬉しいのでもう一回言います。
雪です！！
名古屋では、雪が降ることは少なく、年に片手で済む数日ですよね。
これだけの雪が降るのは、2005年以来なのだとか。
大学周辺も白く染まり、非日常の世界が広がっています。
・・・・雪って、ワクワクしませんか？
幼いころの、楽しい雪の日の思い出がよみがえってくるようです。
通学路では、登校中の小学生たちが、それは楽しそうに雪合戦をしていたり。
そんな子どもたちが、少しでも安全に登校できるよう、先生たちが通学路の雪かきをしていたり、道に立って子どもたちを導いていたり。
寒いけれど、人の温かさが感じられますよね。
先生以外でも、雪かきをしてくださっている方が多いです！
普段あまり顔を合わせることのないご近所の方々にも、挨拶するいい機会です★
雪が降ると、交通機関に影響が出たり、転んで怪我をしないように気をつけなくてはいけなかったり、注意することもありますが・・・是非、この季節を楽しんで下さいね！
